Thursday

Today has been the loooongest day. I woke up to the delicate sounds of Aiden banging around downstairs at 7 a.m. I could also hear him talking Dad's ear off. This kid wakes up talking a mile a minute. I refused to get out of bed before 8 even though I couldn't go back to sleep. I rolled out of bed at 8:01 and headed downstairs. I got everyone fed and dressed and by the time I was showered and ready myself it was 10. I took the kids to the park thinking I could walk on the track while they played on the playground. Yeah, not so much. Aiden started following me around before I was even a full lap around, then Lia lay on the ground and refused to walk any further after we visited the fish pond. Needless to say it was time to go and she DID get up and walk her little hind parts home. It was sooo hot outside today that we pretty much camped out inside watching movies for the rest of the day. Aiden had a friend come over this evening to play on the slip n slide for awhile which was fun for them. Then came dinner & baths and then finally bed time. I'm beat. And my team is currently loosing in the bottom of the 8th. They were winning when they came into this inning. Then they put in the closer that got the loss yesterday... and the SAME GUY hit ANOTHER 2 run double off of him. Homeboy does NOT have good luck in this stadium apparently. Personally I would have hit that SOB when he came to the plate after stealing the game from me the day before. But I'm ghetto like that.

Waterslides and Baseball upsets

Today was my first day with Lia and Aiden. They'll be here for 5 days while Amber and Smitty are back east for a funeral. They arrived around 11 and we had a quick pancake brunch (and good lord can they put away some pancakes... I felt like Aunt Jamima). Next on the agenda was an hour or so of cartoons (a ploy to gain a few moments peace to check my facebook and blogs). To everyone's delight, Gramma and Papa (and some Popeye's chicken) arrived home around 3 o'clock. Mom took a 5 week vacation back east and we are all glad that she is finally home. After a little Gramma fix it was time for "Rest Time"(a.k.a. "Adult Recovery" time because Auntie is about this - close to passing out right here on the couch) which lasted for an hour and a half or so. We cut that short though and headed down to Janelle's house so they could play with her kids on their big inflatable water slide. They sure had a blast down there and were really fun to watch. (But holy crap what is with the tattling at this age??? If no one is bleeding or requiring immediate medical attention, I really don't care what happened). But anyway, on with the pictures!

Tonight Jake and Dad had softball games so I threw Lia into a quick bath, got her ready for bed then went to grab Aiden only to find him fast asleep in his bed in front of a movie. Rather than wake him (it was already 7:30) I just let him sleep dirty :) He played on the water slide... that counts a little right :) Anyway, I left mom with the sleeping (and almost asleep) kids and met the boys at the ball park to watch their games (they split... lost the first game, won the second)while I listened to the Roadrunners game on my handy little walkman radio.

As for the roadrunner's game, they were down 2-0 til the top of the 7th, where they blew up for 5 runs and led 5-2. The score stayed the same until the bottom of the 9th... with one out. Chico is at the plate, 2 walks led to a 2 RBI double and then a 2 run walk off home run for the win! I HATE when that freakin' happens (to us)!!! I mean OUR team does that to other teams all the time, but it hardly ever happens to us. Crap.

Happy Birthday Bubby!

Yes, Aiden turned 5 today! I still remember that day perfectly... where I was, what I was doing, what I was wearing... and seeing his tiny little face for the first time and hearing his first cry. His was the first birth I'd ever witnessed... and wasn't nearly as gross as I'd expected :) So here we are 5 years later to the day and he is a highly active, highly talkative, highly intelligent 5 year old. We kicked his birthday party off at his house with pizza and cupcakes. After opening presents we FINALLY made it to Jumpin' Jacks which is a warehouse full of big inflatable toys... slides, bounce houses, obstacle course... you name it they got it! The best part about jumpin' jacks is the adults can play too! We had a great time and it's an awesome way to wear out 5 kids ages 7 and under... as well as 4 adults aged 23 to 47! But beware because the burns those slides can inflict hurt like a BITCH! Oh my god... 3 hours later it still burns like crazy. But we had a great time with only a few minor injuries (Damien got kicked in the nose... twice, and CJ got a fat lip... he and Dami bumped heads and his new sharp little big boy teeth bit into his lip. He look it like a trooper though with just a few tears even though it bled quite a bit.) Anyway, we shut the place down, staying until closing time. I hope you had a GREAT birthday Aiden!

Whoo-hooo!!!!!!

I had almost forgotten how awesome it is to have a fast Internet connection! And even though I would love to say that I'm blogging downstairs or in the bathroom or something, actually I am in the exact same tiny corner of my room I've been in for the last three months. I guess old habits die hard. But I am sooo ready for the change... bring on mobsters from the bath tub!

In other news, there is an Autism Awareness event being held tonight for a child I know and I am soooo excited for it. And anyone who knows me knows that this is big because I am never excited for ANY social situation. I hope the event goes well and I'm anxious to see who shows up to support he and his family.

And again I'll close with some cute kids :) Aiden back when he was occasionally quiet for longer than .000085 milliseconds.

Ballerina and a 'Broken' arm

Lia will be starting dance class tomorrow. How freakin' cute is she?

Today Aiden fell up the stairs at Gramma's house and "broke" his arm. His "cast" is made of athletic tape that Gramma wrapped around his arm to appease him.

Annie sent me this picture of Kole-man today and I love it! He's getting so big. (And I don't recall seeing him in a shirt since they've moved ;) He's gone country!
