Rec center and BBQ

Yesterday we (Mom, Dad, Aiden, Lia and I) met up with Jake, Kesha & boys(+Patrick) & Lori and kids at the new Rec center to play in their HUGE indoor pool. It was my first time there and I was amazed at this place. The pool had a HUGE play area with slides and a huge water pail that tipped every few minutes drenching everyone within 30 feet with a tidal wave of water. It also had a small play area over to the side for smaller kids that only sat in about 1.5 feet of water. They had the coolest thing for babies... it's kinda like a jump-a-roo set up that you can put them in and let them jump and splash to their hearts content in about a foot of water without having to hold them. Unfortunately Trent is about 3 months too young for this right now. They also have a lazy river that we floated in endlessly that runs in a circle outside then back in. The entire back wall opens up and there is a splash pad and sun deck with a huge BBQ area. Inside there is also a gigantic water slide (which i didn't go on but that mom insisted was great) and a lap pool. There was seriously so much for the kids to do and not much to worry about as the deepest part of the play area pool/ lazy river is only 3.5 feet deep. We put the smaller kids in life vests but the big kids were allowed to "swim" on their own as they could touch bottom anywhere in the pool. The boys loved playing in the lazy river. Jake was in there with a few of them and got separated from Aiden, who got stuck in the crossing currents and couldn't push past into the river. Jake had to wait and grab him as he passed back around. Jake said Mr. Never met a stranger Aiden was asking everyone that passed "excuse me Mr. can you push me in the river". He didn't have to wait long for Jake to get him, it only takes about a minute to get all the way around.

We decided while we were at the Rec center to have a BBQ for dinner so when we were done swimming we packed up all the kids and headed home. We threw Aiden and Lia down for Rest Time, then I jumped in the shower while mom started making mac & cheese. Everyone showed up around 5 with various sides and we had the most thrown together last minute cook out you have ever seen, but it worked out nicely. We played a bit of Guitar Hero, but mostly just sat around and talked while the kids ran wild terrorizing the dog.

In intervals I would go upstairs to catch up with my RR's who were playing Orange County in a double header. Lets just say I was never too pleased with what I heard. They had a bad night last night and were SHUT OUT back to back! That has never happened before. I don't know what the deal is but they just can't seem to get their bats going. Kinda sucks when everyone hits a slump at the same time. They are hanging onto first place in our division by a few games but it's getting a little close for comfort. Hope they shake themselves loose soon. And hope that someone chokes their sportscaster. At least I'll be at the next couple of games and won't have to listen to him.

Batting Cage...

I feel like the kid in A Christmas Story "I can't put my arms down". But in my case, I can't really move them much at all. Dad and I went to the batting cage today for an hour. I maybe took a hundred swings and my arms are killing me. I haven't hit in soooo long. I did make my way down to the medium fast pitch cage though and after only one embarrassing swing where I didn't come anywhere close, I got my bat on the ball and started hittin' some. Still got it :) But what do I have to show for today? 5... yes FIVE! freaking blisters. In 55 minutes. With 2 batting gloves on. WTF?

Tomorrow the RR come back into town and the heat stroker starts tomorrow night as well, so definitely a weekend full of baseball/softball. Love it! Here is a picture from the cage and I finally managed to get the pictures I took of Trent yesterday. His are a little fuzzy because I had the resolution set wrong on my phone. Here they are...

Hmm... slacker much?

So I'm sure most of you know that I have been back from my VA trip for, oh, about 3 weeks or so. No I haven't been super busy, no earth-shattering events have kept me from updating... I'm just a great big slacker. Not that this is news to anyone. And while I don't really have much to say, I did promise vacation pictures, so here are a few. Sorry they're going to go from the end of my trip to the beginning, but blogger is stupid and I'm too tired to change them...

Rachel and I in the the hot tub at Gramma's house... at like 2 a.m. in freakin' January. Yes, we're idiots, thanks for pointing that out!

Ramsey and I spent New Years Eve in North Carolina at a friends house on the water. This is the view from the dining room. It was gorgeous but sooooo freakin' cold! We played Phase 10 all night and even bored the dogs. What the hell happened to us?

Mom, Dad and I went up to Maryland for a couple of days to see Ben, Connie and the kids. We had a great time and Kelli and I even took Marygrace out for her 21st birthday.

Random 'Remember that' Picture Post

A few of the family pictures we had taken the day before Dad moved out here to Utah. Of course we didn't know that less than 3 years later we would all be out here. (Well for awhile anyway until Annie and Keith bailed :) You know we still love you ;)
